“Remember power of your inner energy” I painted this just after giving birth to my daughter.
It should have been the most beautiful time. And in some ways it was. But I was a single mother, without work, without sleep, without energy. Day after day of the same small routine. And somewhere inside all of that - I stopped recognising myself.
This painting is what I held onto. The reminder I kept coming back to. Who am I, underneath all of this? What do I love? What do I want? Not as a mother, not as someone surviving - but as myself.
The woman in this painting is falling. Her silhouette is dark. But from her hands - a sun. A flower. The inner light that doesn't go out, even when you can't feel it.
She is falling. And she is still blooming.
